Fashion week is upon us and as I’ve been doing for the past four years, I’m hard at work chronicling those designers doing something to lessen their impact. This year I’m focusing on Costello Tagliapietra - shown in the video above - and Suzanne Rae (that’ll come later).
Costello Tagliapietra is doing something quietly interesting with their (very) high fashion line. They have partnered with a company called AirDye to custom dye all of their fabrics. AirDye uses no water saves energy during the dying process. Did you know that 17% of industrial pollution comes from textile processing? No bueno.
Watch the video to check out what the namesake plad-clad designers, Robert Tagliapietra and Jeffrey Costello have to say about their Spring 2012 line and their very unique dying process.
